THE Protea Hotels group - the largest hotel group in Africa, boasting over 125 properties - has signed up two more properties in the Northern Province, the Protea Hotel Shangri-La in Nylstroom and the Protea Hotel Elephant Springs in Warmbaths.
Marketing director for Protea Hotels, Allan Duke, told Travel Now that the franchise contracts with the two properties were signed on September 1.
"The Warmbaths property is particularly important for us as it ties in with the Aventura Resorts we have in the area, giving us a cross-pollinated presence in the region."
The owner of both properties, Johan Janse van Vuuren, says the Elephant Springs property has 40 de-luxe en-suite rooms and three self-catering cabanas while the Shangri-La has 33 rooms.
