Jumeirah Burj Al Arab will close for up to 18 months as part of a restoration programme designed to safeguard its legacy.
Since opening in 1999, the hotel has not undergone significant upgrades.
The restoration will be led by interior architect Tristan Auer, who will restore and enhance the hotel’s distinctive interior décor.
“This restoration programme marks a new chapter in the story of Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, one that will carefully preserve the heritage of what is currently the sole property in our Jumeirah limited-edition collection of iconic landmark addresses,” said Thomas B Meier, CEO of Jumeirah Group.
