International hotel group takes over Nairobi hotel

The Lazizi Premiere Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, will join the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) and will be rebranded as of April 30. 
The rebranding will see Lazizi Premiere Hotel change to The Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel. This was confirmed by Parisa Chum, IHG Director Communications: India, Middle East and Africa. 
There will be a grand re-launch of the Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel in May. 
The hotel comprises 144 rooms, as well as day rooms for pre- or post-flight passengers, as the hotel is situated less than three minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.  
The hotel features a spa, roof  deck with an infinity pool, a gym, café with a round-the-clock menu offering local and global cuisine, a coffee shop, bar, shop, a conference centre with three meeting rooms, and a business centre. 
Complimentary airport shuttles are provided upon request between JKIA and the hotel. 
IHG will also open the first Holiday Inn Express in Saudi Arabia, with at least 10 Holiday Inn Express hotels to open in the kingdom in the next 15 years. This comes after IHG announced the signing of a Master Development Agreement with the Saudi business conglomerate, Al Hokair Group, which currently operates six Holiday Inn hotels in the country.

The first Holiday Inn Express will be a 200-room hotel in Jeddah, followed by nine more in various locations around the country. All 10 hotels will operate under long-term franchise agreements.
