From July 1, the Italian Embassy in SA will partially close its visa department, which is to be transferred to the Consulate General of Italy in Johannesburg.
The embassy will continue to issue visas to holders of diplomatic and official passports (not ordinary passports and not applications for Malta) as well as to residents of Mauritius, Madagascar, Namibia and Lesotho.
South African citizens living in Pretoria can schedule an appointment with the visa outsourcing company, Capago, before handing in their applications. Capago is already handling visas for the Consulate General of Italy in Johannesburg and has now opened a branch in Pretoria.
