ITC Travel Group opens co-working hub

ITC Travel Group has refreshed its brand and expanded its support offering for ITCs with the launch of a new co-working office and enhanced technology tools.

“We have come a long way in the 10 years since we started, when it was just me, to then creating this consortium model. The ITC Travel Group comprises various independent travel agents that are 100% independent, have their own branding and specialisations,” explained Alwin Miles-Nell, Co-Founder of ITC Travel Group.

The Group recently celebrated the opening of a new optional co-working office space in the scenic Old Cape Quarter in De Waterkant.

“We have created this beautiful office space, where our ITCs can meet their clients. They can also come here to run their businesses and really receive support from the team. We want to meet here to be inspired by each other’s successes and to have people who will group together to help when things go wrong.”

Offerings and technology

ITC Travel Group has adopted a fee-less consortium model. All ITCs earn 100% of their commission and preferred commission rates with a selection of suppliers, 60% of their overrides and are not charged ticketing or monthly membership fees.

“I feel that once an agent has reached a certain stage in their career where they are so good at what they do, they deserve the right to be completely independent and earn 100% of what they sell, but they also still deserve to be a part of a consortium that they can lean on for support when necessary,” said Alwyn.

ITC Travel Group agents also receive access to back-end ticketing facilities and back-office systems. “With our technology, what we have really tried to do is simplify cumbersome systems to make them as easy as possible to use so that we take away the menial administrative tasks that drag agents down,” said Co-Founder, Thomas Matthew Miles-Nell.

The Miles-Nell brothers emphasised that a key pillar to their consortium concept was creating spaces for ITCs and homeworkers to engage with, inspire and support one another, through the co-working office space, events and workshops.

“We realised that after COVID, many people got used to being isolated and to working from home. While we understand this is what people are now comfortable with, we also want to encourage ITCs to come together,” said Thomas.

“When people come together, the ideas and inspiration that flows amongst people will not materialise when they are sitting at home. This really only happened when you engage and interact with other people.”

They said they regularly hosted small, interactive engaging events with the team, sessions with suppliers and experts for networking opportunities, and workshops with wellness professionals.
