RENOVATIONS to the value of R1,5m at the Protea Hotel Katberg - which includes the addition of a spa and a children's swimming pool - as well as the recent introduction of the 'Katbus' which provides transport to the hotel from the major Eastern Cape cities of Port Elizabeth and East London, is expected to boost tourism to the town.
Marketing services director for Protea Hotels, Allan Duke, says renovations will be completed by the end of September.
"We are confident that the investment and refurbishment of this hotel will go a long way towards setting new standards of distinction and comfort."
According to him, guests can choose from various rejuvenating and therapeutic treatments such as massage therapy, body treatments, facials and hydrotherapy treatments.
The hotel offers game drives to the nearby Mpofu Game Reserve and visits to local trout fishing dams as well as offering activities such as golfing, squash, bowls, mountain biking, horse riding and tennis.
