Kenya Airways will resume passenger flights on June 8, confirms Kenyan Transport Ministry Cabinet Secretary James Macharia, in an interview with The Star.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Airports Authority is putting in place the necessary operational measures ahead of the opening of the country's airports. “This will, however, be subject to medical protocols,” said James.
The airline indicated to Travel News’s sister publication, Tourism Update, that there was no official statement about the flights, noting only that Kenya’s lockdown would be suspended on June 6.
“We will be able to give comprehensive details once the lockdown is suspended. We invite you to keep checking this page for the latest official communication on when operations will start,” said a spokesperson for the airline.
Kenya Airways will offer repatriation flights from Nairobi to London on June 4 and from London to Nairobi on June 5.
