ROADS leading to the Kruger National Park (KNP) are in good condition, with the exception of the R536 which leads to Paul Kruger Gate from Hazyview and the R538 which leads to Numbi Gate from White River.
This advice comes from Dr Salifou Siddo, head of corporate affairs at South African National Parks, after television news reports earlier this week created the "erroneous" impression that all roads leading to the KNP were closed and inaccessible to visitors. The roads he cautioned motorists about have "challenging, but negotiable" potholes.
Siddo says all camps are fully operational, except for Shimwuri and Jakkalsbessie, although all the camps are fully booked over the Easter weekend.
Day visitors can still be accommodated.
He advises visitors to remember to take all the necessary preventative measures against malaria.
