KQ expands KLM agreement

Kenya Airways has expanded its co-operation with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines within East Africa, following the signing of an expanded joint-venture agreement.
The joint venture, effective from January 1, will see KLM and KQ add four new routes to the current arrangement, increasing the KLM-KQ joint venture to a total of six routes.
The new routes are London-Nairobi; Amsterdam-Entebbe/Kigali; Amsterdam-Lusaka and Harare; and Amsterdam-Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam, the last being subject to regulatory approval.
Kenya Airways’ group md and ceo, Titus Naikuni, says: “We saw a tremendous development of our route network, particularly in the early years of the joint venture, by focusing our attention through only limited hubs in Europe, allowing our expansion in Africa. This next phase consolidates our capability to serve our guests across the region and into Europe and beyond.”
