Late bloomers draw big crowds

THE management of the West Coast National Park (WCNP) has announced that, due to the late rains, the Postberg Flower season will start on August 14 and run for two months, until October 8.
Park manager, Paul Stieben, says prospective visitors should arrive early at the West Coast gate - which opens at 07h00 - especially during the weekends - to avoid long queues as high numbers are expected.
The restaurant at Geelbek now also sports a new menu.
The fire of January 2000 that destroyed many hectares of veld has not affected Postberg where the flowers are abundant, he says.
