London Underground strike dates announced

THE Rail Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has announced a series of strike dates for London Underground workers.  The strike is the result of an ongoing dispute over one of its activists.

Officials said the first strike would take place between 21h01 BST on 19 June and 03h00 BST on 20 June.

Further stoppages were planned for this month and July, the RMT said. London Underground said it was premature for the RMT to take action before the conclusion of dispute procedures. However, RMT said it had been forced to take the action because of a failure to agree on the worker’s reinstatement. The strike will cause disruption on the London Underground and travellers are advised to make alternative arrangements where possible to avoid the disruption.
