Lufthansa launches Allegris product in Cape Town

28 Oct 2024

Lufthansa has unveiled its Allegris onboard product on its non-stop flights between Munich and Cape Town, marking a significant advance in South Africa's premium travel landscape.

The Allegris cabins offer a superior passenger experience designed for the modern traveller, says the airline.

Features include spacious, adjustable seating, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment, and private suites in business class.

Lufthansa operates daily flights from Cape Town on its A350-900, departing at 09h30 and arriving in Munich at 19h45.

Allegris-style travel in economy, premium economy, business and first class will be available on the A350s.

Rene Koinzack, Lufthansa's Senior Director of Sales for Southern & East Africa, highlighted the importance of this enhancement, saying it will elevate the travel experience for South Africans.

“The introduction of the Allegris cabins is anticipated to shift travel patterns, encouraging more South Africans to choose Lufthansa for international flights,” Koinzack said.

Munich, the vibrant capital of Bavaria, is renowned for its stunning architecture, including the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle and the historic Marienplatz. The city boasts a rich cultural scene, featuring world-class museums, theatres, and the famous Oktoberfest, which celebrates Bavarian traditions with lively festivities.

Additionally, Munich's beautiful parks such as the Englischer Garten, offer a peaceful retreat amidst the urban hustle and bustle.

Looking ahead, Lufthansa is dedicated to expanding its offerings in Cape Town, exploring further enhancements to cement the city’s status as a critical gateway to Africa.
