A NEW privately owned lodge, situated in Malawi's Nyika National Park, will open in April, at the same time becoming the newest member of the Classic Retreats collection.
Chelinda Lodge, owned by local businessman, David Foot, will provide upmarket accommodation for 16 people, and offer a number of activities including game drives, horse-riding and hiking.
Foot has been associated with the Nyika National Park since 1997 when he took over the management of Chelinda camp, which has since been renovated to international standards, providing four self-catering chalets and six rooms.
Foot also owns property on the Vwaza Wildlife Reserve.
According to office manager Selemani Mwachande, Chelinda Lodge has had a number of advance bookings, with a full house forecast for the months of July and August.
