Malaysia hotel rates are expected to rise from March 1, along with the increase of the country’s sales and services tax from 6% to 8%, announced in October last year.

The Malaysian government implemented the increase to boost the economy. However, as a result, hotel operators anticipate that room rates will surge between 10% and 30%, reports eturbonews.com.
