AirAsiaX (AAX), a Malaysian low-cost carrier, is to launch flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi on November 15.

The route will serve as an essential link to connect Asia and Africa and should encourage trade, tourism and business relations between the regions.

AAX will offer passengers on the route seamless connections to 130 destinations across southeast, northern and central Asia.

"For more than two decades, the airline has effectively bridged the gap between Asia, Australia and beyond to Malaysia, and now we can look forward to receiving more travellers from Kenya to explore our beautiful destinations in Malaysia such as Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Penang, Langkawi and others,” said Malaysia's Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Tiong King Sing.
