On a freezing-cold Joburg night in July, it was a welcome warming experience to hear about the finer points of an exquisite new resort, and see the gorgeous visuals of Heritance Aarah, the latest Adaaran Maldives resort.

Members of the travel trade gathered at Marble Restaurant in Rosebank on July 4 to hear a presentation by Assistant GM Sales and Marketing of Adaaran Maldives, Manujaya Fernando, who hosted the evening with Melanie Floor, Director Business Development Africa for the group.

The resort is set over a glassy, pristine, turquoise sea, and it’s a resort that water-lovers will really appreciate. Water activities at this exceptional property include catamaran sailing, snorkelling (for adults and children), diving, fly-boarding, water-skiing, kitesurfing and windsurfing, so it’s the perfect holiday for sea-lovers, especially active individuals. Families are welcome.

For those who prefer their water a little tamer, Heritance Aarah has an amazing over-water communal infinity pool jutting out over the sea, the only one of its type in Maldives.

The resort includes a Medi-Spa, where certain ‘lighter’ cosmetic beauty procedures are undertaken.

Thompsons has a seven-night stay, Premium All Inclusive (including selected drinks) Dine Around Plan, in a Beach Villa, from R60 205pps. It includes flights ex-Johannesburg (including levies) and speedboat transfers. Valid for stays August 1 to October 31.

Plus, there’s a 10-part bonus with the inclusion of:

*A welcome bottle of sparkling wine,

*Two bottles of wine replenished daily,

*Mini-bar replenished twice daily,

*Two bottles of spirits selected by the guests, replenished in the in-villa mini-bar, daily.

*Ice cream, candy and cocktails from the wandering ‘Naughty Carts’ are available, included.

*A sunrise cruise, sunset cruise, night fishing trip and dolphin cruise are also included.

*An introductory 20-minute dive in the lagoon is part of the deal.

*At the Medi-Spa, an introductory 30-minute massage and a face scan are complimentary.

*Included non-motorised water sports are windsurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding and snorkelling (with the use of equipment).

*A cooking class at Ambula, and a cocktail-making masterclass with a mixologist are also complimentary with this package.
