Marriott Bonvoy, the loyalty programme of Marriott Hotels, announced an exclusive multi-year partnership to become the official accommodation partner of Orlando Pirates Football Club, during a press conference at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Melrose Arch on October 25.

Marriott Bonvoy members and Orlando Pirates fans who follow the team by attending their games across the country will be rewarded with access to exclusive hotel offers. Rewards also include grandstand seats and VIP suite access.

“The partnership with Orlando Pirates is an exciting opportunity for us to provide Marriott Bonvoy members and football enthusiasts with VIP access and money-can’t-buy experiences,” said Neal Jones, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, EMEA, Marriott International.

“Orlando Pirates is one of South Africa’s biggest sporting brands and together we look forward to creating some unforgettable moments for Marriott Bonvoy members, inspired by the thrill and excitement of Orlando Pirates games.”

Orlando Pirates is Marriott Bonvoy’s first sports club partner on the African continent.

It was revealed in the press conference that Marriott is currently working on an Orlando Pirates-themed suite, which will be Marriott’s first sports-team-themed suite globally.

Fans who wish to claim these benefits can earn loyalty points by staying at any Marriott affiliated hotels. Members can also download the Orlando Pirates App to keep an eye on the team to see where and when they are going to play next.

There will be several dedicated fan activation areas – in celebration of the new deal – where supporters can win prizes by competing in events at the FNB stadium on Saturday, October 29, when Orlando Pirates take on Kaizer Chiefs in the first post-COVID Soweto derby. Gates open at 12h30.
