Monday smile: Excuses for overstaying a visa

These strange excuses were gathered by ixpvisas.com
1. I banged my head on a low beam and have lost track of time.
2. My car broke down in the middle of nowhere and it took me three days of walking to get to the nearest town. I’ve been recovering ever since and haven’t felt fit to travel.
3. I fell in love during a weekend city break.
4. I thought I had a three-year visa and not three months.
5. I didn’t realise you had to leave at the end of a visa period as I thought it was just a guideline.
6. I’ve spent a lot of money on my trip so thought you’d be pleased at the overstay if anything.
7. I thought visas were for non-English-speaking people.
8. I was a witness to a road accident and so I’m waiting for the trial date to give evidence; after three years still no news.
9. My landlord has just become very ill so I have stayed to look after him.
10. I have become a religious leader and cannot leave my flock.
