Diners at Alfredo’s Restaurant in St Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal, had three unexpected visitors last week when hippos strolled past the restaurant.
The video, shared on Alfredo’s Facebook page, showed the animals walking through the parking area before heading back toward the estuary.
According to Getaway, hippos are a common sighting in St Lucia, a town that borders the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Hippos often leave the estuary after sunset to graze on nearby lawns, sometimes wandering past shops and petrol stations along the way.
