The Save Elephant Foundation, an elephant rescue NGO in Thailand, has gone viral on YouTube after one of its blind rescue elephants, Jokia, learned how to have a family again, upon the arrival of rescue a calf and its mom.
The Save Elephant Foundation Founder, Saengduean Lek Chailert, revealed in an interview with US animal news YouTube channel, GeoBeats Animals, that Jokia’s history in the abusive logging industry made her antisocial and reclusive.
This all changed when calf Lek Lek and her mother, Moloh Loh, were rescued from a tourism elephant riding operation and came to the Foundation. Lokia learned how to interact with other elephants again and has taken up the role of grandmother to the new arrivals.
