MSC launches Cape Town leg of SA cruise season

MSC will soon commence the Cape Town leg of its 2025/2026 South Africa sailings on board MSC Opera. The ship will sail from Durban on March 27 offering travellers a final opportunity to sail South Africa’s coastline before the season concludes in April.

The Cape Town programme will offer a selection of three-night cruises into the Indian Ocean, as well as longer five-night round-trip voyages to Walvis Bay.

Highlights include three themed cruises:

  • Bok Boot Cruise, from March 30 to April 4 bringing together the Bok Radio team alongside South African artists for a music experience.
  • Oppiwater Kunstefees, from April 9-14 for a festival featuring theatre, comedy, music, opera and dance.
  • MiCases Friendship Cruise, April 14-17, with Heart FM and MiCasa for three days of live music.

The 2026/2027 local season will kick off on November 27 on MSC Armonia. This Lirica-class ship will offer a more intimate, Mediterranean-style cruising experience with departures from both Durban and Cape Town.
