Munich Airport is testing an innovative new way of selling snacks to passengers, with JEEVES, a new robot.

JEEVES offers a collection of soft drinks and snacks that can be purchased using Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major credit cards. The snackbot will move through the gate area on levels 4 and 5 at Terminal 2.

Customers need only step into JEEVES’ path to get the robot to stop, then they can make a purchase using the large touch screen.

This self-driving robot was originally developed by Munich-based start-up, Robotise for use in the healthcare and hospitality industries. It is the first time it will be used as an airport snackbot.
