Namibia has reopened its border posts with South Africa and Botswana, Etienne Maritz, Executive Director of the Namibian Home Affairs Ministry said in a statement on August 6, according to The Namibian.

Maritz said the Mata Mata, Vellorsdrift, Sendelingsdrift, and Klein Manasse border posts to South Africa, and the Dobe and Kasika border posts to Botswana had reopened on August 6 for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

Foreign travellers are still required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter Namibia. The wearing of masks is not mandatory.
