PLANS are being finalised for the introduction of what is arguably one of the most innovative in-room hotel TV services in the world at Cape Town's most famous hotel, the Mount Nelson - or 'Nellie' as it is affectionately known.
Custom-made for the African Collection of Orient-Express Hotels, the 'guest web' system installed in guest rooms will feature its own cordless, infra-red keyboard which will allow guests to surf the 'Net, pick up their e-mail, use a word-processor or spreadsheet, check their hotel bill, book restaurants, check the weather and more.
If all goes according to plan, says an inside source, the guest web could be ready for launch in May.
