Andy Hedley has officially taken the helm as the new CEO of the Travelstart Group.

Hedley joined the group in April last year as MD, fresh from his role as MD, Southern Africa at Amadeus.

Since then, he’s been pulling together the group’s travel brands (Travelstart, Club Travel, Flightsite and SafariNow) into one unified group. He has also pushed hard to grow its B2B offering and capabilities.

As for its Founder, Stephan Ekbergh, after a quarter of a century running operations, he’s stepping into a new role, “focusing on the broader picture” and the next chapter for the wider group.

“Joining Travelstart felt like coming home. It’s fast-paced, full of heart, and brimming with potential. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far — but the best is yet to come. This is just the beginning,” said Hedley.

“Andy is one of those rare people you meet and instantly trust. The team loves him. The industry loves him. He gets the tech. He gets the business. And he’s just a damn good human to build with. We’ve been searching for the right person for years – now we’ve found him. The Travelstart Group is in great hands,” Ekbergh said.
