New camp opens in Maasai Mara

The Lerai Safari Camp recently opened in the Olerai Conservancy of the Maasai Mara in southern Kenya, 24km north of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.

The camp is the only permanent safari accommodation in the wildlife-filled 2023-hectare conservancy, which is on the migratory pathways of wildebeest, zebra, elephant and antelope.

The camp has six canvas safari suites, and facilities include a bar lounge that has access to iMac computers and free WiFi; solar lights, charging facilities and a safe. The dining area overlooks a seasonal river.

Activities include walking safaris, day and night game drives with a Maasai guide, African massages, Maasai cultural visits, hot-air ballooning, bird watching, horse rides and bush meals.
