CEMAIR launched a year-round
weekly flight from Margate to
Cape Town, via Plettenberg
Bay, on March 15.
Flight 5Z0912 departs
Margate Airport on Thursdays
at 09h00 and arrives in
Plettenberg Bay at 11h00.
Connecting flight 5Z 0902
departs Plettenberg Bay at
12h00 and arrives in Cape
Town at 13h15.
Return flight 5Z901 departs
from Cape Town at 13h45
and arrives in Plettenberg
Bay at 15h00. Flight 5Z0911
departs Plettenberg Bay at
15h30 and arrives in Margate
at 17h30.
The flight is serviced by
CemAir’s 19-seat Beech
1900D.
“We are launching the
Margate-Cape Town route
because it is very difficult
to get from KZN to Cape
Town. Although going by
road to Cape Town is the
same distance as from
Johannesburg, the route is a
difficult one to navigate,” said
Laura van der Molen, cfo of
CemAir.
She said the airline had had
a lot of requests to connect
the South Coast to Cape
Town. “We are aiming to give
people based on the South
Coast access to Cape Town
and also looking at offering
international tourists in the
Cape a way to access the
South Coast directly.”
Laura said, depending on
demand, the airline would
look at increasing capacity.
