New luxury property for Vic Falls

Tatenda Safaris will open the new Monde Apartments, in Victoria Falls before year-end.

The property, 12 km from Victoria Falls along the airport road, will offer 12 luxury rooms and conference facilities for up to 200 guests.

Tatenda Safaris proprietor, Dr Rangarirayi Gunda, said construction was already under way.

“We hope to open the lodge before year end. We want to fill the accommodation and conferencing room gap in Victoria Falls and surrounds while at the same time growing our portfolio.”

Victoria Falls Anytime Tours manager, Sinini Mthimkhulu, said more accommodation facilities were needed in the resort town.

“This is a development in the right direction considering that tourist arrivals in Victoria Falls were on the upward trajectory before the COVID-19 pandemic reversed the gains. Hope remains that figures will go up again once the COVID-19 crisis is over, so the investment by Tatenda Safaris is timely.”

Sinini added: “More options bring in competition and competition is healthy in that it compels service providers to offer quality services. In turn, the higher service levels increase the destination’s ranking.”
