New owner for Dream of Zanzibar resort

TUI Group has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of the Dream of Zanzibar resort. This takes the number of TUI resorts in Zanzibar to two, following the purchase of the Riu Palace Zanzibar in April.
The resort will be operated by TUI with immediate effect and all existing reservations will be taken over and honoured. In the 2019/2020 winter season, the hotel will be rebranded as TUI Blue Zanzibar.
The resort is a five-star property designed to reflect an African-Arab style of architecture and is set in tropical gardens overlooking the beach. It has 157 rooms, eight restaurants, four bars, a spa and two swimming pools.
The resort is on Zanzibar’s north-east coast on Kiwengwa beach, 45km from the airport.
TUI Blue is the group’s new lifestyle brand, blending hotel packages with individual travel experiences. TUI Blue hotels feature architecture from the region, innovative technology and the introduction of the Bluefit concept for fitness, nutrition and wellness.
Artur Gerber, TUI Blue Managing Director says: “In delivering our growth roadmap, we are increasingly looking for holiday destinations facilitating profitable year-round operation due to their consistently warm climate.” He says Dream of Zanzibar already enjoys good occupancy rates and high customer satisfaction and offers a wide variety of excursions and experiential travel options, complementing the TUI Blue concept.
