Immigration New Zealand has introduced a new system that will centralise long-term visa processing in South Africa, making it easier for applicants to submit their information online.
South African passport holders do not require a visitor visa to enter New Zealand for short-term stays (up to three months) but will have to apply for a visa to work or study in the country.
It is expected that by 2015 all applicants will have their own immigration account, which will enable them to enter their details online and track progress of their application.
Meanwhile, a new Visa Application Centre will be established in Pretoria later this year, from where applications will be sent to the Pretoria High Commission for processing.
