Phantom airline, Royal Republic Airlines, has disappeared as quickly as the start-up emerged. The airline
recently began advertising its plans on social media and through its website to launch operations from
Cape Town. It was actively pushing job opportunities through its Facebook page and its website. Following
a report in TNW (Flight of fancy? dated September 11), it seems that Royal Republic has removed its
Facebook page and deactivated its website. A Google search brings up “Openings at Royal Republic
Airlines” tab, which leads to a page saying “Come work with us”. However, further down the page, it says
“Sorry, we don’t currently have any open positions”.
