Airlines in the US cancelled a number of flights between on November 7 and November 8 as a result of winter-storm ‘Athena’. Affected airlines have issued the following re-booking and re-issue policies for affected passengers:
American Airlines
American Airlines and American Eagle said operations would resume on Thursday (November 8) morning in Philadelphia and at all New York-area airports. Additional delays and cancellations may occur as American gets back to a full schedule in the Northeast.
Customers ticketed to travel on flights to/from/through Hartford, CT (BDL); New York Kennedy, NY (JFK); New York LaGuardia, NY (LGA); Newark, NJ (EWR); Philadelphia, PA (PHL) and Westchester County / White Plains, NY (HPN) on November 7-8, with tickets issued not later than November 6, may travel between November 8-15.
The ticket reissue charges will be waived for one ticket change. Due to the extension of this travel policy, customers who made a previous change are allowed an additional change at no charge.

Delta
If a flight is cancelled or significantly delayed, passengers are entitled to a refund. Even if the flight is not cancelled, a one-time change to the passenger’s ticket without a fee can be made if passengers are scheduled to travel to, from, or through Allentown, PA (ABE); Hartford, CT (BDL); Manchester, NH (MHT); Newburgh, NY (SWF) or White Plains, NY (HPN) on Delta, Delta Connection®, or Delta-coded flights on November 7-8. Tickets must be reissued on or before November 16 and travel must take place by the same date. When rescheduled travel occurs beyond November 16, 2012, the change fee will be waived, however, a difference in fare may apply. Final travel must be completed by end of ticket validity, one year from date of original issue.

Air Canada
Air Canada has issued the following advisory as a result of Athena:
The following airports may be affected as a result of Athena: Boston (BOS), Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), Halifax (YHZ), New York (EWR), New York (LGA), Philadelphia (PHL), Saskatoon (YXE) and St. John's (YYT). Air Canada has revised its ticketing policy for customers booked on affected flights to facilitate changes to bookings. Those customers wishing to make alternate travel arrangements can do so without penalty, space permitting. Passengers are urged to check their flight status prior to leaving for the airport.

United
For passengers scheduled to travel between November 6-8, the airline has waived change fees and fare differences when rescheduled travel commences by November 15. For all other dates and ticket uses, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply. Refunds are permitted for processing to the original form of payment and must be requested from United Airlines. Go to united.com/refunds and submit the refund form. Policies also apply to consolidator, Internet tickets, and MileagePlus award tickets.
US Airways
US Airways has relaxed its change-fee policies for travel between November 7 to November 8 at the following airports: Hartford/Springfield, CT ; New Haven, CT ; Washington, DC (Reagan National) ; Washington, DC (Dulles) ; Baltimore, MD ; Boston, MA ; Manchester, NH ; Newark, NJ ; Islip, NY ; New York, NY (JFK) ; New York, NY (Laguardia) ; Newburgh, NY ; White Plains, NY ; Philadelphia, PA ; Providence, RI ; Burlington, VT
If travel is affected, passengers can change their trip online (in most cases) and the airline will waive the change fees if passengers book the same origin and destination and if they are scheduled to travel on the affected dates the travel date may be changed to travel on November 9-18.
