The tourism industry is devastated by the passing of aha Chief Operations Officer (COO) HP Merensky.

The sad news was announced on social media with a video celebrating his life.

Merensky joined aha in 2016 as General Manager of David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa. He was promoted to Regional Director: Operations in 2019 and COO in 2022.

The hospitality group said: “We will all miss HP more than words can express. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, leadership and passion for excellence. HP’s contributions to the company were immeasurable and his impact on those around him will continue to resonate long after his passing.

“His vision and commitment to the success and growth of the company inspired many and he leaves behind a legacy that will be honoured by all who had the privilege of working with him.

“Our thoughts are with HP’s family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.”
