“A lady and a legend...gone too soon” said Michell Fourie, of Shamba Travel and Tours, Livingstone, Zambia, speaking of the untimely passing of Tracey-Lynn Gush Lanjopoulos, former sales manager (trade) of British Airways.
South Africa’s travel industry was shocked to hear of the tragic passing of Tracey-Lynn Gush Lanjopoulos, from Covid-19 complications, on July 8, at the age of 57.
Tracey started her travel career as a travel consultant with Pentravel, and worked there from 1983 to 1988. She then moved to British Airways’ call centre where she began a 33-year career with the two companies which would merge to become IAG. She stayed at the call centre for 10 years until 1998, when she joined Iberia as a key account manager. She left Iberia in September 2000 when she rejoined British Airways for 2o-plus years, becoming Sales Manager for the Travel Trade until she retired in March 2021.

Mary Shilleto, board member of Thompsons Travel, said Tracey loved wearing her British Airways uniform and she did so with great pride. “Tracey you were an incredible ambassador for BA international, “ said Mary.
A British Airways spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.”
Tracey-Lynn leaves her mother and two adult sons, Josh and Luke.
