Pak Africa pushes back launch date

Pak Africa Aviation has yet to finalise the purchase of 1time Holdings, once again delaying the launch of a new airline under the 1time brand.
In May, Javed Malik, director of Pak Africa Aviation, said the company was going through the final audit process and hoped to have the deal concluded by June. However, Javed told eTNW this week that the JSE transaction was still ongoing.
“We hope to get it finalised by August and by October 1 we will be ready to fly. Currently we are busy with the regulatory authorities and have started working on the implementation process,” he says.
Pak Africa plans to launch flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town as well as between Johannesburg and Harare.
Meanwhile FlySafair, which said it was looking to launch domestic flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town early in the second half of the year, is remaining tight-lipped on when ticket sales and flights will commence.
