PCRs at ORTIA – results may take 48hrs

Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (Satsa) has advised its members that it has confirmed with the Port Health Authority that there is a backlog in testing at OR Tambo International Airport. As such, the officially communicated turnaround time for results of 4-6 hours is in fact actually between 24-48 hours.

This is due to the recent spike in infections and the fact that the general public are now also using these facilities. Satsa advises members of the industry that if they have travellers hoping to use the service at ORTIA, they should make them aware of an expected turnaround time of 24-48 hours.
