Seasoned hospitality professional Francois Joubert has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts as Senior Global Sales Manager, bringing with him more than 20 years of expertise in the hospitality industry.

Joubert’s appointment sees him taking the lead on Preferred’s global sales strategy for 600 of its independent hotels, resorts, and residences across 80 countries. He is also responsible for hotel relationships in Africa.

“This appointment feels like a dream realised, and I eagerly anticipate re-entering the luxury market segment. It’s a great honour to represent the Preferred Hotels & Resorts group, with my primary goal being the expansion of revenue streams globally,” says Joubert.

As part of his strategy, Joubert will hold a series of corporate and leisure workshops, roadshows, and product training sessions to engage the industry on Preferred’s luxury portfolio.

“I look forward to participating in prescheduled international roadshows and tradeshows to showcase our luxury offerings on a global scale,” he says.

With a Bachelor’s degree in International Tourism and Hospitality Management, Joubert has a strong background in project management, sales and marketing, and revenue management.

Originally from South Africa, he gained international exposure early in his career, managing segments for global hotel chains like Hilton, Orient-Express Hotels (Belmond), and Starwood Hotels. In 2021, he played a key role in the opening of Cresta Grande Cape Town, together with the pre-opening team at Cresta Hotels.
