Price volatility and airfares top agent stress list

Price volatility and rising fares are currently South African travel agents’ main sources of work-related stress, as they navigate a difficult environment shaped by ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.

According to a recent Travel News poll of 158 respondents, 25% of agents cited price volatility and fare increases as the biggest source of work-related stress. This was followed by rebooking clients affected by disruptions (20%), navigating airline policy changes (17%) and clients delaying new bookings (16%).

Managing airline schedule uncertainty seemed to be the least of agents’ problems with only 7% of votes, followed by handling cancellations and postponements (8%) and reassuring clients about future trips (8%).
