Princess Cruises turns food waste into water

Princess Cruises has successfully deployed 26 food waste biodigesters on board the new Sun Princess luxury ship.

Aimed at reducing waste generation and environmental impact, LFC Biodigesters will be used as a natural aerobic digestion process to break down food waste into water. This eliminates the need for traditional disposal methods, reducing costs as well.

Power Knot is a US-based organisation that provides environmentally sustainable products, such as the LFC Biodigester, for cruise lines looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Sun Princess is Princess Cruises’ latest ship to debut. It will sail to the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Caribbean later this year. Princess Cruises is represented by Discover the World Marketing in South Africa.
