Proflight Zambia has temporarily consolidated its regional flight schedule to mitigate the impact of significantly higher operational costs.
Until June 11, flights between Lusaka and Johannesburg will be reduced on Tuesdays and Thursdays to one flight daily instead of two.
All P0074/75 flights to Maun in May and June with no passengers booked have been cancelled. Flights that have passengers booked will still operate.
Due to a significant increase in global jet fuel prices, the airline has increased the fuel surcharge (YR tax code) on all routes. Excess baggage rates have also increased.
“The conflict in the Middle East has led to disruptions in both jet fuel pricing and availability, but we are also experiencing broader operational challenges linked to disruptions in supply chain. Essential spare parts, including engines, are being delayed or rerouted which is impacting our scheduled maintenance timelines,” said the airline.
