Regional airline, Proflight Zambia, received its first 126-seat Boeing 737-500 aircraft last week, to accommodate its growing flight frequencies.

The Boeing 737 is the third aircraft Proflight has added to its fleet since emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Its fleet now consists of eight aircraft: three 50-seat Bombardier CRJ-100/200 jets, three 29-seat Jetstream 41 aircraft, one 18-seat Jetstream 32, and the B737.

Captain Josias Walubita, Proflight Director of Flight Operations, said the airline was thrilled to welcome the Boeing 737, something that was a significant milestone for Proflight Zambia, further emphasising its commitment to providing exceptional service to its valued customers. “The advanced features of the Boeing 737 will enable us to offer an even more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience."

The new aircraft is expected to commence operations and make its inaugural flight in a few days, pending regulatory approvals.

Starting July 1, Proflight Zambia is launching the first direct flights between Lusaka and Cape Town, making it the airline’s fourth South African route, adding to its Lusaka-Johannesburg, Ndola-Johannesburg and Lusaka-Durban flights.
