Carnival opens private Caribbean destination

Carnival Cruise Line has opened Celebration Key, its new, exclusive destination on Grand Bahama. Carnival Vista, with 5 000 passengers on board, made the first official visit to the destination.

The first phase of Celebration Key features, Suncastle, which is a 10-storey sandcastle tower, freshwater lagoon, and what Carnival Cruises says is “the world’s largest swing and swim-up bar”.

Other areas include Paradise Plaza with live music and the Starfish Lagoon, a family-focused area with a shallow pool and waterslides. An adult-friendly area, Calypso Lagoon, features live music, bars and restaurant while the Pearl Cove Beach Club is an adults-only area with a 1000 square meter infinity pool.  Lokono Cove is the retail village where handmade goods and Bahamian culture are on display.

There are more than 30 food and beverage venues across Celebration Key, along with a variety of live entertainment.
