Qantas to reduce SYD-JNB flights

Qantas Airways will reduce its current six weekly flights between Sydney and Johannesburg to four per week from February next year.

When asked if the adjustment was part of a new seasonal schedule, the airline told Travel News that it did not operate on a fixed seasonal basis but rather adjusted its schedule in line with demand.

According to Michi Messner, Qantas Regional Manager Africa, the reduction is partly due to the launch of the Johannesburg- Perth service which begins in December.

According to Simple Flying, the new schedule, on the Airbus A380, will depart Sydney at 17h30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 17h15 on Thursdays and Saturdays. It will land in Johannesburg at 14h30 and 14h15, respectively.
