Royal Caribbean will debut Hero of the Seas, its fourth Icon Class ship in Miami in August 2027.
The new ship will feature eight ‘neighborhoods’, as well as what the cruise line says are the most pools at sea, 28 dining venues, cooking classes for all ages, and new accommodation for multigenerational families.
Highlights of the onboard activities include:
- Coconut Cove, with in-water loungers and poolside service.
- The Hideaway adults-only oasis with two pools, including the largest swim-up bar at sea and an in-water DJ booth.
- Familiar favourites will be revamped with an expanded Swim & Tonic pool and new water features at Splashaway Bay.
- Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, with two new family raft slides.
- Crown’s Edge a part skywalk, part zip-line experience.
- The FlowRider surf simulator, Adrenaline Peak rock-climbing wall, Lost Dunes mini-golf course and sports courts for pickleball, basketball, soccer and more.
Highlights of the 28 dining spots include:
- Orleans Parish Supper Club, a multi-course dining venue with live jazz, craft cocktails, and gourmet Cajun and Creole dishes inspired by the 20th century French Quarter.
- Royal Railway – Hero Station, an immersive dining experience that combines entertainment, food and technology.
- Surfside neighbourhood will host cooking classes for all ages.
- The AquaDome Market food hall will return with four new stall concepts.
Hero of the Seas will provide more accommodation options for families including:
- The Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-deck treehouse featuring a rooftop terrace and private whirlpool, a two-deck teen space, and two en-suite main bedrooms.
- The three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse with access to Surfside Family Suites and Family Infinite Ocean View Balconies.
- The Royal Loft Suites, Icon Loft Suites and Interior Plus and Sunset Suites.
The ship’s maiden voyage will be a seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itinerary from Miami.
