SA airports are tops in Africa

Skytrax has announced its list of the World’s Best Airports for 2025, with South Africa winning first, second and third places for Best Airports in Africa.

Cape Town came top, having also claimed Best Airport Staff Service and Cleanest Airport in Africa. OR Tambo in Johannesburg was second, with Durban’s King Shaka rounding off the top three and claiming Best Regional Airport in Africa. The InterContinental OR Tambo won Best Airport Hotel in Africa.

The top ten Best Airports in Africa are as follows:

  1. Cape Town
  2. Johannesburg
  3. Durban King Shaka
  4. Marrakech
  5. Casablanca
  6. Addis Ababa
  7. Kigali
  8. Mauritius
  9. Cairo
  10. Antananarivo

Global airports

Globally, Singapore’s Changi Airport was named the World’s Best Airport in 2025 for the 13th time in the awards' history. It also won the World’s Best Airport Dining, the World’s Best Airport Washrooms and the Best Airport in Asia.
