SA residents must quarantine in Zambia

24 May 2021

Zambia has just revised its regulations for entry, and once more it’s not good news for residents of South Africa.

From May 24, at all points of entry, all travellers inbound must present a negative PCR test certificate, conducted within 72 hours of departure from country of origin.

Travellers from a country on the high-risk list will have to take another PCR test on arrival, at their cost.

Travellers from a country on the high-risk list (South Africa is on this list) have to quarantine ‘at home’ or in a designated facility for 14 days.

But travellers who have complete documentary proof that they are fully vaccinated will be exempt from quarantine.

The 15 high-risk countries are India, Iran, Turkey, France, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Italy and Tanzania. The government notice said the list would be reviewed and updated regularly.
