SAA has been named the official carrier for South Africa’s national football teams, Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana.

The airline announced the new partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA), which took effect from June 1. SAA will transport the national teams to their upcoming destinations for their international matches.

“We welcome our national teams on board, and we look forward to flying them around the world on national duty to represent our nation.  We know the players and officials will be well taken care of and will enjoy our award-winning hospitality that SAA is renowned for,” said Professor John Lamola, Interim CEO of SAA.

SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao said the association saw SAA as a strategic carrier for the teams’ need to travel and compete internationally. “We welcome back SAA to help us get to key fixtures in destinations they fly to on a non-exclusive basis,” she said.
