South African Express (SAX), which was grounded by the SA Civil Aviation Authority on May 24, has communicated authorisation codes to the travel trade for use in the reissuance, re-routing or refunding of tickets affected by the airline’s grounding.
Last week, South African Airways communicated that affected clients could contact the SAX offices for assistance with refunds, reissuance and rebooking but agents complained that it was difficult to get through on the lines.
These are the authorisation numbers provided by SAX:
• SA Express WF18.SAX.17149.REBOOKING. “Auth to re-issue SA ---- Date ---- at no ADC due to SA Express grounding”
• SA Express WF18.SAX.17144.REFUNDS. “Auth for a full on refund SA ---- Date ---- due to SA Express grounding”
• SA Express WF18.SAX.17148.RE-ROUTING. “Auth to re-route SA ---- Date ---- at no ADC due to SA Express grounding” SAA has also said it will continue to provide regular communication about the status of flights.
