Saxon invasion

THE upmarket Johannesburg suburb of Sandhurst will soon be home to the small, privately owned luxury Saxon Hotel when it opens in mid-June.
Owned by local entrepreneur Douw Steyn, the 26-suite hotel with its 40-delegate capacity conference facility and unique dining library, will be mainly targeted at the national and international corporate market but the leisure market will not be excluded from its focus, says marketing manager Melanie Rouche.
Having just returned from Indaba 2000 in Durban, delegates from the hotel were getting ready to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to market the hotel in Europe.
Rouche says exhibitions and local and international trade fairs will be the driving force of the hotel's international marketing.
