Singapore has postponed the roll-out of its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) levy due to the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, the levy will now apply to tickets and services sold from October 1, for flights departing Singapore from January 1, 2027 – instead of tickets sold from April 1, for flights departing Singapore from October 1, as reported in November.
The levy is set at:
- SGD1 (R13) for economy class and SGD4 (R53) for premium classes for flights to Southeast Asia.
- SGD2,80 (R37) for economy and SGD11,20 (R149) for premium classes for flights to Northeast/South Asia, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
- SGD6,40 (R85) for economy class and SGD25,60 (R340) for premium classes for flights to Africa, Central/West Asia, Europe, Middle East, Pacific Islands, and New Zealand.
- SGD10,40 (R138) for economy class and SGD41,60 (R554) for premium classes for flights to the Americas.
